We are recruiting a Bioengineering Master\u2019s student to lead experimental sessions and optimize our <em>in vivo<\/em> rodent squat press platform. We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering Master\u2019s student to lead the evolution of our custom rodent strength-testing rig. This role involves high-level R&amp;D, focusing on precision force measurement, structural stiffness, and sensor integration.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Advanced R&amp;D:<\/strong> Improve mechanical design for alignment, stiffness, and reliability using high-fidelity CAD (SolidWorks\/Fusion 360).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Prototyping &amp; Fabrication:<\/strong> Oversee the transition from &#8220;Version 1&#8221; to &#8220;Version 10&#8221; using 3D printing, machining, and precision assembly.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Instrumentation:<\/strong> Lead sensor integration and calibration (force\/torque, load paths, and DAQ synchronization).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Documentation:<\/strong> Create professional-grade drawings, BOMs, and technical manuals to ensure the system is reproducible for future research.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Candidate Profile:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Current Master\u2019s Student in ME\/MAE.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Strong intuition for tolerances, fits, and mechanical load paths.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience with hands-on building, debugging hardware, and DAQ systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Goal:<\/strong> Interested in a hands-on Master\u2019s Project or Technical Publication.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Commitment:<\/strong> ~10 hrs\/week (flexible).
